The State of FOI in Local Government - Research

Our latest research report will focus on ‘The State of FOI in Local Government’. Following our most recent webinar series, we have seen an increase in Local Authority FOI practitioners searching for more information about the sector.

Having produced reports on the ‘Impact of GDPR’ and ‘Impact of COVID’ on Information Rights in the Public Sector, we are now focussing our research specifically on FOI. FOIA has enjoyed an elevated presence in the media recently with no territorial limitations being confirmed and the pandemic encouraging citizens to search for information.

Our research survey contains 15 questions that take approximately 7 minutes to complete. The survey gives FOI practitioners the opportunity to tell us about performance within their organisation and provide their opinion on FOI legislation and its status.

Those who take part in the survey will receive preferential access to the final research report which will provide detailed information on how FOI is performing with Local Authorities, where the struggles are, and how these can be overcome. The report will also give you the opportunity to benchmark your organisation’s performance against the rest of the sector as a whole.
